A Malaysian native who grew up in Hong Kong, our new videographer joins Time Out with years of video production, editing and cinematography experience under his belt.
What do you do all day at Time Out?
If I'm not planning, shooting, and editing videos, I am constantly researching and sharpening my skill set to make sure our video content stands out from the others.
What made you join Time Out?
Even though I grew up here, since coming back to Hong Kong from film school in LA I realised that there was so much of Hong Kong that I had yet to see and experience. This kickstarted a newfound interest in uncovering and appreciating all that this city has to offer. Time Out does a good job of keeping its finger on the pulse of of the city – inspiring people to go out and explore – which was why it felt like such a natural fit to join!
When you're not in the Time Out office creating magic what are you up to?
I'm really into street photography and I love scouting different neighbourhoods in Hong Kong to take photos. It's a great way to check out all aspects of life here!
Describe your perfect weekend in Hong Kong.
There are always new cafes popping up, so a perfect weekend in Hong Kong always begins with checking out a new coffee spot. I'm also a huge foodie and enjoy eating my way around Hong Kong – from the amazing street food to fine dining. Finally, carrying film gear ain't easy on the back and shoulders, so I like to end the weekend with a well-deserved spa getaway.
