Born in Canada but raised in Hong Kong, Time Out Hong Kong’s newest staff writer Cherry joins us with a passion for discovery, a keen eye for cheap finds and a liver of steel.
What do you do all day at Time Out?
I get to cover a range of beats as a staff writer. Typically my days consist of me combing the city for the latest happenings around town, be it lifestyle, entertainment, or food and drink news.
What made you join Time Out?
I’ve always been interested in keeping up with the latest happenings around Hong Kong, so it only seemed natural that I get to do and write about the things that appeal to me.
When you're not in the Time Out office creating magic what are you up to?
Most of the time I’ll either be catching up on sleep or catching up on the latest Netflix series, right now I'm binging Japanese manga series Spy x Family.
If we couldn't get a hold of you, which bar, restaurant, place or neighbourhood should we go looking for you at?
Growing up in New Territories, my stomping grounds generally range from Sha Tin to Sai Kung, but I love to sweep the streets for cheap eats – Fei Jie in Mong Kok is my favourite. During the day, you can find me taking film photos around Hong Kong, but when the sun sets, I'll be running to the nearest bar to get my hands on a G&T.
